Information Cairns Airport

📣 AIRPORT UPDATE: Cairns Airport will remain open and operational, following the Queensland Government announcement of a 3-day lock down for Cairns and Yarrabah LGA’s from 4pm Sunday 8 August, 2021. For any enquiries relating to flights, please contact the airline directly.

Below are some FAQ’s in relation to travel advice as outlined on the Queensland Health website:

1️⃣ Q - If I fly into an airport in a locked down area can I transit without needing to follow the lock down rules?

A - Yes. You must either stay within the confines of the airport until your next flight out of the locked down area or leave the airport in a private vehicle and drive straight out of the locked down area without stopping. Face masks are required to be worn while transiting through the locked down area. You cannot use an airport shuttle service or public transport with other arrivals.

2️⃣ Q - Can I travel from a locked down area?

A - You can return to your home outside of a locked down area, but you must follow the same lockdown rules when you return home. All members of your household must also follow the lockdown rules.

📱 Check-in via the QR code located at entry points to Cairns Airport.
😷 Remember to BYO face mask. Face masks are required to be worn indoors and outdoors at all Australian Airports and onboard aircraft. Face mask vending machines are available in the check-in area.
🤲 Practice good hygiene and social distance where possible.
