How has it been this long between visits ?
We managed to sneak in during a rare five-minute lull, but by the time the Lychee Martini arrived, the place was absolutely pumping. The energy, the atmosphere and that heavenly smell wafting from the kitchen had us excited before the food even hit the table.
First up, the Prawn Betel Leaf and WOW! A little flavour bomb that danced across the tastebuds — crunchy peanuts, sweet, a little spicy, the taste of coconut and finished with a zesty hit of kaffir lime leaf. Absolutely sensational! Lots of ohhhs and ahhh over this one.
Then came the Spicy Margarita with its salty rim and fiery kick. A seriously good start to what was shaping up to be a very tasty evening. It was steaming.
Our attentive waitstaff steered us towards the Pork Belly, and what a recommendation. Sticky, caramelised and deliciously indulgent, it was everything pork belly should be.
Finally we tucked into the Red Curry of Angus Beef, Pumpkin and Vegetables, rich, thick, creamy and packed with flavour. The kind of curry that makes you want to slow down and savour every last spoonful.
Great cocktails, seriously good food and a buzzing atmosphere. Jungle Fowl, you’ve reminded us why we need to visit more often! Jungle Fowl
Oh Port Douglas you should be proud of this place. Put on the top of your must visit list.
