Meet the saltwater crocodile, the largest living reptile on Earth and the apex predator of Tropical North Queensland’s waterways.

Growing up to six metres long and weighing more than 1,000 kilograms, these prehistoric giants have survived for millions of years. Whatever wiped out the dinosaurs clearly did not bother the crocodiles!

The Daintree River is one of the best places to see them safely on a guided cruise. You can also get a closer look at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas or Hartley's Crocodile Adventures!
