We previously posted about the Main Farmhouse now being available as accommodation at Brooklands Historic Farm Accommodation, Port Elliot, South Australia. Here are some updated photos to give a better idea of the interior and the antique furniture used, accommodating up to 10 people. The large farmhouse table can sit up to 10 people with the extra chairs provided. There is also a couple of photos of the cottage as well showing the second bedroom that now allows Brooklands Cottage to accommodate up to 4 people. Or both Main Farmhouse and Cottage up to 14 people.
Furnishing the early farmhouse with mainly early Australian Colonial Furniture that matches the era of the house was for the obvious positive impact, and interesting experience for guests. But as it is accommodation, rather than just a visual house museum we have been careful in the way we did this. The positive impact of the early Australian Colonial cedar beds for example is obvious. But whats not obvious is that to make them as comfortable and usable as possible the mattresses are new locally made pocket spring wool mattresses to provide comfort & support right to the edge of the beds.
