With a heavy heart & a lot of sadness, I write this…
The Star Of The West… What a PUB, what a journey!
Memories that l hold within this building, go above and beyond I can tell you.
Walls will never talk!
As an employee for many years, I as much as the rest of the staff have been left in disbelief we had to close the doors.
We ALL, as in the staff, would like to extend our raditude to our very valued customers.
The banter, the tears, the laughter, the support you gave us all, was the reason we got up each day and stuck with our jobs for as long as we did.
To see each and everyone of you, was the reason why we do hospitality!
So thank you guys, even if you thought you didn’t make a difference, you all certainly did.
To all the staff…
What a pleasure it’s been to work with a team that has worked hard, or sometimes LOL. We made it work and we all built friendships in some kinda crazy way!
I’m so so sorry for how it all went down, but you all know, I’m always here for you all.
We got dealt a very difficult card, but we will all somehow get through it.

Thank you to all of Port Fairy Community that have reached out to help a lot of us and take us on, you guys have all been amazing!
However, we still have 2 Sri Lankan chefs that need there sponserships to stay here, if anyone at all can help them, would be grateful appreciated.
I have no doubt that within time, The Star Of The West will open again, l would love nothing more then to see each and every staff member helped out as the process could take months.
