Beach warning for all dog owners in Port Macquarie!

There have been sightings of sea hare mass beachings in Port Macquarie and surrounding areas over the last week.

Sea hares are large, marine molluscs commonly found in intertidal rocky shores, seagrass beds, and pools across Australia, particularly during summer and autumn. While harmless to humans, they can release a toxic, purple dye and are fatal to dogs if ingested.

Please ensure that when your dog is visiting the beach, that they are kept away from any washed up marine life.
