🔨 Exciting progress at Rotary Lodge Port Macquarie! 🏗️
Manager Paula Johnson and builder Kevin Butterworth from Butterworth Building Construction recently gave us a sneak peek inside one of the new rooms. We're almost at lock-up stage on the ground floor and the frame looks great on the upper level. This $1.4 million expansion will add 12 more rooms, bringing our total to 48, allowing us to provide even more affordable accommodation and a home away from home for those needing medical attention in Port Macquarie. 🏡💙

It’s all systems go at Rotary Lodge Port Macquarie with construction on our $1.4 million expansion well underway.
Butterworth Building Construction has completed the structural steel work and the pouring of the first-floor concrete slab. The work is progressing well and we are all looking forward to the 12 extra rooms, which will bring up to 48 rooms. This will improve our ability to meet demand for affordable accommodation for anyone attending Port Macquarie Base Hospital, Private Hospital, and specialist appointments including PET and MRI scans.

This expansion will enhance our ability to provide comfortable and affordable accommodations to those who need it most.

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉
Today marks a significant milestone for Port Macquarie Rotary Lodge!
We're thrilled to announce that the Board has officially signed a construction contract with Kevin Butterworth of Butterworth Building Construction for the $1.4 million expansion to the Lodge! This expansion will add 12 extra rooms, bringing us to 48 rooms, and further increasing capacity to provide affordable accommodation for Port Macquarie Base Hospital patients, their families, Mid North Coast Cancer Institute patients, and visiting medical staff. 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️
Thanks to the support of Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams, the project received a generous $510,000 NSW Government Grant last year. 🙌 This support will ensure the expansion project moves forward smoothly and efficiently.

A big shout out to a beautiful lady by the name of Audrey, who spends countless hours creating handcrafted toys for Port Macquarie Base Hospital and Mid North Coast Cancer Institute patients, as well as Rotary Lodge guests.
Audrey’s beautiful gifts bring a great deal of happiness, not only to young patients but also to elderly guests staying at the Lodge where manager Paula informs us they bring a lot of comfort to older people who have no partner and go home alone after their treatment.

At Rotary Lodge Port Macquarie, we are always trying to improve patient comfort and convenience, but this week we also did something a little extra for the environment. Electrician Quin installed light and fan timers in the laundry, helping us to save energy while at the same time reducing our electricity bills.

It was great to connect with the Regional Health Division of NSW Health during a virtual meeting today. Governing Board Chair Phil Hafey talked about the great work of Rotary Lodge in providing affordable accommodation for anyone needing medical care or visiting loved ones in hospital.

MHERV has been staying at Rotary Lodge Port Macquarie this week, along with Registered Nurse Leanne Garvey who has been running free health checks in Laurieton, is at Port Macquarie Town Green until 3.30pm today and Wauchope's IGA car park tomorrow and Wednesday. MHERV (Men’s Health Education Rural Van) is a Rotary initiative aimed at providing health checks to rural men and women, where they live and work. Rotary Lodge is proud to support this important health initiative, along with local Rotary club hosts Port Macquarie Sunrise and Port Macquarie West.
