We are a schools-only accommodation facility, currently preparing for our exciting 2025 operations! If you’re looking for a dynamic and rewarding role, we have multiple positions available:

Position 1: Junior Team Member (2 Positions)

Perfect for students or individuals looking for their first job!

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve dinner to students.
• Assist with dinner coordination.
• Support evening activities such as discos, movies, and trivia.

Shift Details:
• Monday to Thursday, 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

Hourly Rate:
• Age-dependent and discussed with successful applicants.

Position 2: Motel All-Rounder (2 Positions)

Ideal for experienced individuals seeking a versatile role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Meal service and cleaning.
• Activity facilitation and preparation.
• General maintenance and operational tasks.

Shift Details:
• Monday to Friday, including early mornings and nights.

Requirements:

Our Company
The Capital Airport Motel (CAM) is a school specialist accommodation located in Queanbeyan. We provide accommodation, meals and entertainment services to both primary and secondary school students during their Canberra excursions. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service to our guests which is achieved through our professional and friendly work environment.

The Position
The Capital Airport Motel is looking for 2 full time positions, offering a fantastic work/lifestyle opportunity with extended annual holidays and 5 day working weeks. Workdays will consist of primarily of Mondays to Fridays with very limited weekend work. We are offering fantastic holiday opportunities with 6+ weeks of annual leave.

We are looking for enthusiastic applicants to conduct a variety of roles within the motel. Roles may include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning / servicing motel rooms
- Assisting with meal preparation and clean up in the motel kitchen
- Conducting basic maintenance throughout the motel
- Mowing and maintaining motel grounds
- Interacting with and instructing school students
- Ensuring students maintain an orderly manner within the motel

Skills and Experience

About us:
The Capital Airport Motel is a school accommodation specialist in the Canberra area.
Offering a fully inclusive package for school groups traveling to Canberra that includes, accommodation, meals, entertainment and much much more.
We pride ourselves on attention to detail, customer service and are looking to expand our team to meet our current needs.
We currently operate for school groups Monday to Friday (with the occasional Sunday Night).

Junior positions:
Our Junior positions are suited to current year 10/11/12 students whom are looking for a great work life balance.
Duties for our junior staff include
- Assisting with the service of meals
- Room monitoring - supervising visiting students while they are in the motel.
- Coordinating and assisting activity nights (Discos, Games, Movies, Trivia etc)
- General cleaning directly related to above tasks.
**All training will be provided - Shifts range from 4-11pm Monday to Friday.**

General Motel Positions:
Our General motel position duties include:
- General kitchen duties (Sandwich preparation, Basic prep, cleaning ect)
- Housekeeping
- Assisting with service of meals (Breakfast and Dinner)
- Coordination of meal service times.
**Please note - We are looking for persons interested in working across all areas listed above, we are currently not looking for just housekeepers or just kitchen staff**

Our unique school accommodation is looking to add a Chef/Cook to oversee our Kitchen team.

This is a full-time position with predominantly Monday to Friday working days, with the occasional weekend.
If a great work/life balance is what you are looking for, this is the job for you.

Great working conditions with 8+ weeks of annual leave per year, minimal weekend work, no holiday services such as Mothers/Father’s Day, Christmas etc, ability to be creative with seasonal menus backed with the consistency of pre-bookings – no unexpected service surprised, a true chef/cooks dream.

Reporting to Motel Managers, your primary responsibilities include:
· Preparation of meals across breakfast, lunch, and dinner to a high standard.
· Manage food costs.
· Maintain stock levels, ensure stock rotation, and stock quality.
· Maintain kitchen cleanliness to a high standard.
· Ensuring food safety and compliance.
· Prepare foods to suit dietary requirements.

Please be advised that during the initial stages of employment, you may be called upon to conduct various duties in a range of areas of the motel.

The successful candidate will:
· Have a passion for food
· Hold a current Food Safety Supervisors certificate.
· Hold a certificate III in commercial cookery or equivalent
· Experience cooking for large numbers.
