Get to know your hosts! Brenden (left) and Paul have been the hosts at The Grand On Macfie in beautiful Devonport in March 2016. They enjoy meeting and hosting people, particularly guests that appreciate luxury, heritage and old world charm that is found at The Grand on Macfie.

Time, effort and money was required to restore this grand lady of Devonport so that guests can enjoy comfortable rooms, a welcoming guest lounge and delight at Brenden’s wonderful breakfast!

In addition to providing local knowledge gained from nearly ten years of service, Brenden and Paul pay close attention to providing the best for the guests. A regular visitor from Sydney, who travels on his motorcycle, was intending to ride to Launceston Airport to meet his wife and return with her as his pillion passenger. Brenden wasn’t having that so he gave over the keys to his BMW so she could arrive at The Grand in comfort!

Just saw this posted by our local newspaper. Looks like some summer clothes will have to come out.
“local severe heatwave warning has been issued for the North-West of Tasmania for the first few days of the this week with temperatures to get up to 27C in Smithton on Monday and Tuesday and 26C in Sheffield.
Other parts of the state including Launceston, Ouse and other inland locations will see temperatures in the 30s.
It will remain sticky at night with overnight minimum temperatures remaining in the mid teens”.
