🍻 MEET THE TEAM – OUR LOGAN BOGAN, LAUREN! 🍻

Also known as Loz, Lauren has been part of the Club Hotel crew for the past 2½ years and has well and truly earned her place as one of Ravenshoe’s favourite barmaids. ❤️

Lauren’s been a Ravenshoe local for around 8 years, but her story actually starts a fair way from Far North Queensland…

She was born in Manchester, England 🇬🇧, before growing up in Logan, Brisbane — but we won’t hold that against her. 😏😂

Before landing behind the bar at the Club, Lauren reckons she worked at just about every business up and down Ravenshoe’s Main Street… twice. 😅

🍺 WHAT DOES SHE LOVE ABOUT THE CLUB?

The people.

Her work family, the locals and especially our regulars who she looks forward to seeing every day. ❤️

When asked who the funniest person on the team is, Lauren picked Emma — apparently because she’s also from Brisbane and “she just gets it.” 😂

Steak with a seafood topper, mash and veg. 👌

🥃 THE KNOCK-OFF DRINK?
A can of Bundy.

Now, there’s not a whole lot our regulars don’t know about Lauren because she’s pretty much an open book… but we did manage to uncover one secret:

She has an absolutely HORRIFIC phobia of little people. 😳

And what does Lauren like doing when she’s not at work?

Well…

You’ll usually find her still at work — just on the OTHER side of the bar. 🍻😂

⚽️ Her team: Manchester United
🎶 Her music: Anything that gets you moving — put the top hits on and there’s every chance she’ll end up dancing on the bar. 💃😂
📺 Her TV choice: Horror and crime shows.

💰 IF SHE WON $1 MILLION TOMORROW?

Lauren says she’d think about finally getting her car fixed 😂… before travelling back to the mothership to see how England’s going. 🇬🇧

❤️ THREE THINGS SHE COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT:

1. Her kids
2. Food
3. Her phone 📱

🕷️ HIDDEN TALENT?

Lauren is secretly Spider-Man.

Shhhhh… don’t tell anyone. 🤫🕸️😂

And then we asked for her most embarrassing moment at work…

There were probably plenty to choose from, but the winner has to be the day Lauren was caught on the work cameras performing her very own…

“BO SNIFF TEST.” 😭😂

Only to later realise she’d been caught on camera and have to confess to her bosses exactly what she was doing.

We’re not sure she ever fully recovered. 😂

When we asked the rest of the crew to describe Lauren in three words, the answers were:

1. FUNNY 😂
2. LOUD 📢
3. SUNGLASSES 😎

🍺🥨 OKTOBERFEST IS COMING TO THE CLUB HOTEL! 🇩🇪🎉

We’re kicking off Ravenshoe’s 2026 Torimba Festival the best way we know how — with The Club Hotel’s FIRST Oktoberfest celebration! 🍻

Join us on Saturday 10th October from 2pm until late for an afternoon and evening packed with German cuisine 🌭, pretzels 🥨, ice-cold beer 🍺, good music 🎶 and even better times!

And of course… dress for the occasion! 🇩🇪
🏆 BEST DRESSED on the day — so dust off the lederhosen, pull out the dirndls and get into the Oktoberfest spirit!

Torimba is a special time of the year for our town, so come help us kick off the 2026 festival with a PROST! 🍺🍺

🎸 What an incredible way to kick things off! 🎸

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our very first Open Band Jam on Sunday. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon!

From seasoned musicians to first-time performers, the local talent on display was unreal. It was fantastic seeing everyone jump up, have a go, cheer each other on, and enjoy some great music together. Add in a delicious Sunday roast, a few cold drinks and plenty of laughs, and it made for one unforgettable afternoon.

This is exactly what community is all about, and we’re already looking forward to doing it all again!

🎶 Open Band Jam will now be held on the 1st Sunday of every month, so start warming up those vocals, tuning those guitars, and dusting off those drumsticks.

See you at the next jam! 🤘🎸🥁🎤

🍻 Meet the Team – Stu 👨‍🍳

Meet the man behind the magic in the kitchen – our Head Chef, Stu! 👨‍🍳🔥

Stu has been leading the kitchen at The Club Hotel since Christmas 2022, putting in the hard yards almost every single day to keep our customers well fed. Originally from Canberra, he completed his chef’s apprenticeship before working in kitchens across Sydney. Eventually, he packed up and headed north with his kids, and he’s never looked back. These days he loves the cooler climate and country lifestyle that Ravenshoe has to offer.

When it comes to our menu, Stu’s personal pick is the Pulled Pork Burger, but if it’s your first visit, he says you can’t go past the Lamb Shanks—a long-time customer favourite!

What Stu enjoys most about his job isn’t just the cooking—it’s the people he works with. His kitchen crew, Coco and Kenny, keep him laughing every day with Kenny’s dry sense of humour and Coco’s uncanny ability to trip over just about anything. 😂

Away from the kitchen, Stu is full of surprises. He’s a talented skateboarder and BMX rider and also holds dual Swiss-Australian citizenship. He’s a passionate Sydney Roosters supporter, loves punk and hardcore rock music, and has quite the collection of skate shoes and hats. His favourite movie is The Breakfast Club, but if karaoke is on, you’ll find him singing Standing on the Outside Looking In by Cold Chisel.

If Stu suddenly won a million dollars, he’d buy himself a brand-new Volkswagen Golf before heading off on an adventure—driving to an exotic resort, skiing through the Pyrenees and visiting Wolfsburg in Germany. If he ever found himself stranded on a deserted island, his survival kit would consist of a lady friend, a Jet Ski and plenty of fuel! And yes… he’s firmly on Team Pineapple on Pizza. 🍍🍕

His dream dinner guest? Denise Richards. His spirit animal? A tiger. 🐅

Stu says the best part of working at The Club Hotel is meeting all the different characters who walk through the doors every day. His message to everyone is simple: come in for the warm hospitality, stay for the great food.

Next time you’re enjoying a meal at The Club Hotel, give Stu a wave—you’ll probably find him hard at work making sure every plate leaving the kitchen is one to remember.

🍻 Meet the Team – Ding 🍻

The man, the myth, the legend… Ding!

A true blue Ravenshoe local through and through, Ding has been part of the town’s pub scene for as long as anyone can remember. Growing up, he spent plenty of time around both local pubs while his mum worked in them, so you could say hospitality has always been in his blood.

He’s also left his mark on the Club Hotel in more ways than one—having helped paint and renovate the pub not once, but twice! 😅

Growing up, Ding was a seriously talented athlete and could dominate just about any sport that involved a ball. One of his proudest achievements was coaching the Ravenshoe Tigers Under 16s to a Grand Final victory in 2023—a moment the whole town was proud of.

These days you’ll find him keeping things running smoothly as our cellar man. Whether he’s unloading trucks, changing kegs, lending a hand around the pub, or lining up another game of pool, Ding is always up for a chat.

Locals know him, travellers remember him, and people passing through after years away always make a point of stopping in for a cold beer and a yarn with Dinga… and if they’re feeling confident, they might even challenge him to a game of pool (good luck with that!).

Around here, he’s more than just part of the team…
