350 Lomandra, 25 black beans, 15 reeds planted in the newly post flood created island. This area was covered by more than 150 devils figs, lantana, numerous weeds and left over debris from the flood. It took two full weeks just to clear this area barely using any chemicals (just to poison devils figs which otherwise would grow back from thin air). I’ve reopened by hand the old creek bed to recreate some wet area encouraging growth of young bangalow palms and native ferns. This a also considering a long period of drought forecasted for the coming years (fingers crossed). The grand plan will include ephemeral rock walls, tree ferns, a palm forest, surrounded by lush grasses and reed beds. It’s is going to be a long battle against the weeds but it will be well worth it I’m sure.

Hello everyone !

What has been happening ? Why have you gone so quiet lately?

Well well well ! Ernesto and I decided to knock down our old house and build our beautiful new pad: what a journey it has been! Between bushfires, Covid and floods, we eventually moved in our new house ten months ago. We lived in the Airbnb cabin for all that time (nearly two years) while the new house got built. I spent the last ten months landscaping around the house to make it more magical than ever.

The cabin is unfortunately in a poor state at the moment and needs a complete revamp: repainting, new water pump, fixing the kitchen, refurnishing etc.

We have decided to put it back for private short stay rental in the coming months so stay tuned!

In the meantime, we are renting a bedroom in our house with your own bathroom, your own grand living room packed with arts and oddities, your own tv room and, for the nostalgics, the ability to use the cabin’s deck and gardens. PM if interested : we only currently rent to people we previously hosted. The new house is vast , there is plenty space for privacy and only the kitchen needs to be shared 🙂

Hello everyone!

We are now officially closed until March 2022 !
We are in the process to build our new house which
has unfortunately been much slower than initially thought.

Loads of work ahead and we look forward to hosting you again as soon as the property will be presentable again and free of tradies and bulldozers !

We look forward to seeing you again next year and thanks again for your ongoing support throughout the past years!

Benjamin and Ernesto wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

After years of hard work, thanks to your help, we've planted thousands of trees, bushes and spent countless hours working towards the restoration of the Big Scrub (some remnant of the original forest are in the property) and the expansion of Koala habitat. A relentless war against weeds so well worth it!

We have been flat out busy with the airbnb this year and we're about to take a BIG break of 8 months during which we're building our new house.

We should be back by November 2021 and we look forward to hosting you again in the future.

Once again a BIG thank you to everyone who contributed towards this amazing project we're eternally grateful!
