Rowallan is located in Mount Charlie State Forest at the North East end of the Macedon Ranges, approximately 1 hour North West of Melbourne or 30 minutes from Tullamarine Airport.

Got time this Saturday?

Time to finish up a couple of projects in the Forest!

- Rebuild retaining wall beside forest toilets.
- Related landscaping & cabin landscaping.
- Clean up side of path to cabins.
- Woodchip spreading on Bentons walk.
- Woodchip spreading at Warnock Lodge.
- Shelving units to be assembled in the maintenance compound container.

Schedule for the Saturday, 12 September 2026
- 9am Arrive
- 9:15am Briefing/Job Assignment
- 1pm BBQ Lunch
- 4pm Wrapping up and home time

We're excited to announce that the construction of the new Forest Cabins at Rowallan is now complete!

Our brand-new off-grid cabins are located in our Forest Camping area and are ready for campers.

Whether you are visiting for a Scout activity, a weekend adventure, or just looking for a quiet getaway in the bush, these brand new cabins are a great option for all.

The all new Arends' Cabins contain:
- 4 individual rooms, 4 beds in each (16 beds total)
- 12V lighting
- A small undercover area
- Affordable add‑on to any Forest Camp booking

Woah! A lot got done at Rowallan on Saturday.

Some highlights include: Completing the climbing pyramid at HQ, Mulching some branches and spreading them! A couple of rotten seats around the campfire circle now have fresh (and importantly, rot free) logs.

The last of the concrete parking dividers have also been replaced with slimmer pine dividers which should make it easier to park at HQ.

3 Weeks of earth works are starting at Rowallan!

Today, Solar/Battery power was trenched to the new Forest Cabins and rain water drainage works started around the Farquhar Rover Crew Workshop.

Lots of progress yesterday at Rowallan Scout Camp

We completed a number of tasks
- cleared road side gutters outside the Rangers Cottage
- we laid a new section of brick pavers
- split a large tree into manageable pieces
- painted the doors on our new Forest Cabins
- and made a start on the climbing pyramid located next to our Low Ropes course and Adventure Playground at Headquarters Camp. (For now you just have to imagine what it will be)

Big thanks the committee and other volunteers for coming to assist.

The water is on !!. Recently we trenched 150m to run a water supply to the Keith Farquhar Rover Crew workshop. Thanks to Calvin Lloyd & Jack Hough for back filling last week. Today we connected the new stand pipe and tested for leaks. It has been left aside, due to the rain earlier in the week, that left the trench full of water.

Today we ran the water line to the Keith Farquhar Rover Crew workshop. Still need to backfill, but I'm sure there will be some eager rovers that would love to do that.

Rowallan is feeling refreshed for 2026!

Over the weekend a team of 18 Rovers, Committee and Volunteers put in the hard yards to perform a freshen up of Rowallan.

Thanks to all those who came to lend a hand and complete all the jobs planned for the day.
