Saw this gorgeous Echidna
quietly searching for food along the roadside.
They are such incredibly unique creatures.
Unfortunately the wildlife officers told us it is probably a young one not yet used to the road and its dangers .
Did you know that echidnas have bad eyesight so they don’t see the dangers ahead of them - keep them safe and protect them especially on and around roads !

The strongest Aurora happened last night in Ross and we thought we were going to miss it due to heavy cloud cover earlier in the night - then the clouds parted and it shone through for all to see.
Unfortunately we couldn’t take photos of the shimmering and waving of the lights on the sky with a still camera or convey how amazing it was to see the white beams of light moving and shaping the sky but here are a few of the still shots from the night
Still in awe this morning of being able to witness it !
