It's with mixed feelings we announce that after 37 years of continuous operation the Colonial Cottages of Ross and the Ross BnB are closing. The business has been very much part of our family and our lifestyle as we started restoring the first cottage in 1982. We thank Leanne and Michael for picking up the baton and running the business for the last 4 years. They have done a lovely job of hosting guests. The BnB has been sold, as far as we know will not be operating as a BnB. We will be keeping Captain Samuels cottage and Cupids Nest but will not be operating tourist accommodation. We adore Ross and have close connections with many of its residents. Reflecting back over the past 40 years the village has been an important part of our lives. We Started life in Ross with the purchase of Hudson cottage. Soon after establishing Ross Antiques. Ross walking tours ran in the background for over 35 years while we purchased and restored Captain Samuels cottage, Cupids Nest, Apple Dumpling Cottage and the BnB. We restored Church Mouse cottage and operated tourist accommodation there for over 15 years. Sue meanwhile also worked locally as a Registered Nurse and was on the Tidy Towns committee. I was chairman of Ross Promotions group for over 10 years and had two stints of being on the Northern Mdlands Council's Ross local committee. Although the business is closing we will continue our connection with the village. It's hard to let go when Tim's family has been part of Ross for 6 generations.
