On Tuesday night, we said goodbye to Deb and Victor who, over the 24 years we have owned the Riverland, have celebrated every one of their wedding anniversaries with us (except the COVID year when they had a takeaway!). It was an emotional farewell, we will miss you both, such a special association. 😢

Well, it’s official, we have sold the Riverland!🥂

Thank you to all our wonderful guests, patrons and staff for your support over the past 24 years. (Yes, you read that correctly…24 years!). It’s hard to say in a little Facebook Post just how much our time at the Riverland has meant to us. We’ve seen a lot over the years and we’re honoured to have been part of many of your special occasions and offer you a home-away-from-home on your travels. We take with us fond memories not only of the motel and restaurant, but also of St George. It really is a beautiful town with a great community which we will truly miss. It’s been an emotional few weeks as we’ve shared teary goodbyes with a lot of you. Thank you for all your kind words and well wishes.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the new owners and wish them all the best with their future endeavours. We know that this little business we started all those years ago is now in the very best of hands going forward. Please continue to support the new owners, they will be a wonderful asset not only to the business, but also the community.
