THE SPACE With its own private outdoor hot tub you are literally sitting amongst the natural bush with views of the mountains from every room. The deck area has a BBQ and big timber outdoor table and chairs; its a great place to unwind and watch the prolific birdlife and kangaroos in the valley late afternoon. The outdoor entertaining area catches all the morning sun and is a perfect place to enjoy your complimentary breakfast.

There are 2 beautifully decorated light filled bedrooms with lots of room to spread out and luxury linen so you feel pampered, a spacious kitchen/dining room with everything you need to create a meal (including fresh herbs), a sparkling clean bathroom with step through shower and large comfy lounge room with a big wide screen TV, DVD player, music system. We also have games, kid’s toys, art supplies and a record player with some 1980’s vinyl.

Roger is a bird photographer and his framed work of Australian birds decorate the apartment with a theme in each room. I offer private watercolour workshop classes from the upper deck art studio - scroll down for details. We are always happy to walk you around the property and talk about some of the local attractions. The kids can explore the veggie patch and will have lots of room to run around.

Most afternoons, a group of kookaburras sit and wait for a feed and along with the prolific bird life, there is a family of kangaroos which visit regularly.

HOUSE RULES The accommodation rules are simple and trust that all guests will be respectful and thoughtful while staying in the apartment. • No smoking inside • No parties or events • Check-in time is from 3 pm • Check-out 10 am • whirlpool bath spa available between 4pm-9pm. Put nothing in the Spa except yourselves.

GUEST ACCESS The apartment opens out onto the property and lawns - you have full access and we encourage you to explore the gardens, veggie patch, orchard and anywhere on the property except the shed. All other parts of the house (upper level) are private.

GUEST INTERACTION We are always happy to chat about the area and suggest things to do but we also respect our guests' privacy. We live on the premises and available in-person or by phone if help or recommendations are required

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE Our dog Baxter is a big standard Labradoodle, he is young and incredibly friendly so at times a bit goofy and bouncy so please let us know if you are not fond of dogs we will make sure he stays on the balcony or in his dog yard.

NEIGHBOURHOOD OVERVIEW This is a quiet neighbourhood where the loudest noises rarely exceed the sound of birds or insects chirping. Neighbours are all on 3 to 5 acre blocks and hidden away in the bush setting so there is plenty of room to feel like you are completely secluded and away from all the hustle and bustle of life.

GETTING AROUND The nearest shops and facilities are a drive away. Wauchope is about 6 minutes by car with a big IGA and most services and Port Macquarie is under 15 minutes.

PRIVATE WATERCOLOUR TUITION at the RIDGE RETREAT with Tracy Hughes - Watercolour Artist We really enjoy hosting our little BnB and I adore watercolour painting so I thought, why not bring them both together and offer guests a half day of private tuition in a personalised watercolour workshop. If you long get into some well-deserved “you time” and experience the relaxing and creative benefits of mindfulness then you will love this session. Painting with beautiful artist grade paint and using high quality expressive watercolour brushes on cotton paper is pure magic. You will be taught all about colour principals and the importance of a limited palette, learn how to master brushstrokes, how to control water and understand layering and blending edges. Then after a break enjoying some home baked treats and a cuppa we will bring all these techniques and knowledge together to complete your very own painting. DETAILS Cost: *$145 Note: For an additional $30pp you can share your tuition time/cost and bring along up to 2 people and turn the private tuition into your very own group workshop with friends.
