Fabulous gesture of Matt Smith for this recent bus tragedy . Which inspired me to offer my Airbnb near JH to victims family .

the office is taking contact details to offer the families .

Anyone who has a room or two to spare please call and leave your details of what you can offer xx can’t imagine how these families are going to cope with this tragedy .
Condolences to all for their loss and pain they are going through .

Hello everyone 👋 it's me, Kim.
Happy new year. How are we almost nearly the end of Jan already? Wow. Absolutely crazy.

I hope that you all had a wonderful festive season and got the chance to unwind and relax.

What's been happening at the cottage?
Sooo many guests! I am so thankful for ever since guest thy stays at the cottage whether it's for the weekend, a week, a month or like one family.... a year while they dealt with the heartbreak of a house fire in their home.

This year the cottage will be welcoming more and more guests, and I as always will be doing my best to maintain this gorgeous cottage and keeping our guests as happy as humanly possible.

For me personally, this year I hope to take more opportunities to explore our local area, have some fun with my family and read more books.

Thankyou all for your continued support, your likes, shares and of course bookings.
Having an BNB has always been a lifelong dream of mine, and this cottage is just the perfect partner to this dream.

Funny story, when my daughter was little we'd go driving in the weekends looking at houses and properties that I could build my dream. I have been know to pop a few hand written notes into letterboxes too saying "if you ever decide to sell this magnificent home, pls call me" .... they never did. Thankfully.
But I can remember those days like they were yesterday and decades ago at the same time.

Thankyou for indulging my nostalgic moment.

Wow I think Pete has left our longest review yet. Thankyou 🙏 we've been so busy with guests since before Xmas that I'm starting to catch up with the the other world "the social media one" ... Hope you're all well and 2023 so far has been giving you time to recharge those batteries too!

I forgot to share this gorgeous and simple orange cake that I made for my guests a little while back.
Original recipe credit goes to ❤️ it!! Thankyou x

Here's the recipe!!

Wet Ingredients
*1 seedless sweet orange with skin (if it isn't seedless, remove the seeds)
*3 large eggs
*1/3 cup vegetable oil
*1/2 cup raw sugar

Dry Ingredients
*2 cup self raising flour

Instructions
Starting with the Wet Ingredients...
❤️Add all ingredients into a blender or thermo device and blend on high until you get a smooth mixture.
❤️pour it into a large mixing bowl
❤️Add the flour to the mixture and combine.
You can use a spatula or a hand whisk. It's really important not to over mix at this stage as you'll get a rather dense cake.
Bake
❤️Pour the batter into whatever pan you'd like to use. Here I've actually doubled the recipe as I wanted to create a taller ring cake. Be sure to grease and flour your tub first. Bake in a preheated oven at 160degrees (fan forced oven) or 180. Bake for approx 40 minutes or until it passes the skewer test (when you poke the centre of the cake with a skewer and it comes out clean)
once removed from oven let the cake rest in the tin for approx 3-5 mins, before turning out onto a cooling rack.

Dust with icing sugar, decorate with icing or if you're like me have a slice with some vanilla yoghurt 🤤
