Dovecotes family accommodation in Stanley Tasmania.
This house has been in our family for five generations. Like all homes built in this time, it needed a little TLC. After years of hard work, we now offer it as a holiday home for guests of all ages. The furnishings have been hand picked to help us remember the fabulous Art Deco era.
The house is a large three bedroom home, offering sleeping for six, with 1 queen, 1 double and 2 single beds. Wood heating in the dining and gas in the lounge make for lovely cosy winter nights. The bathroom has a large deep bath and separate shower. We have full laundry facilities and spacious open living areas with TV and DVD player. The private fenced back yard is perfect for barbecues. The house is central in the township, so just a short walk to beaches, shops, restaurants and hotel.

Found an old postcard showing the Convict Barracks at Highfield.
Still shingles on the roof, and 3 chimneys - maybe around 1910.
I wonder who those characters were.
