An “Easterly Gale” rolling into Stanley harbour more than a century ago.

Fishing boats sheltered beneath The Nut while the waterfront below battled the full force of Bass Strait. Produce waited for ships, fishermen mended gear, and generations built lives shaped by sea and weather.

The Bond Store has witnessed shipwrecks, storms, hard winters and the changing face of Stanley itself.

Settle into our restored 1850s waterfront stone warehouse on Stanley’s original wharf, with a fire ready to light, mulled Tasmanian pinot, adults’ hot chocolate with Hellyers Road whisky, penguin watching at dusk, plus access to the skylit bath and cedar sauna.
