Before there were wineries, there was tin. Before there was tin, there was Country.

Every visit to Stanthorpe is a journey through thousands of years of history.

Long before vineyards, orchards and charming country cafรฉs, the Granite Belt was home to the Kambuwal People, who cared for this remarkable landscape for countless generations.

Then came the tin rush of the 1870s, transforming a quiet settlement into Queensland's largest alluvial tin mining town. As mining declined, orchards flourished. Vineyards followed. Today, visitors come from across Australia to experience the unique blend of history, nature and cool-climate wine that makes the Granite Belt so special.

The next time you visit, take a moment to look beyond the scenery.

Every granite boulder, orchard and historic street has a story to tell.

Sometimes, caring for the bush means letting fire play its natural role. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Hazard reduction burns are carefully planned to reduce fuel loads and help protect our community from more intense bushfires.

But they also begin something remarkable.

As the bush regenerates, sunlight reaches the forest floor, fresh grasses and native plants emerge, and before long, wildlife returns.

๐Ÿฆ˜ Kangaroos grazing on new shoots.
๐Ÿฆ” Echidnas foraging through refreshed ground.
๐Ÿฆ‰ Tawny Frogmouths watching quietly from above.
๐Ÿ Native reptiles warming themselves in the spring sunshine.

It's a reminder that Australia's bush has evolved with fire for thousands of years. When managed carefully, it creates opportunities for renewal - not just for the landscape, but for the wildlife that calls it home.

We're privileged to share our little corner of the Granite Belt with these remarkable neighbours.

๐ŸŒฟ Nature knows how to begin again.

Spring has a way of inviting us back outside.

The Granite Belt begins to bloom, the days grow longer, and the bushland comes alive with wildflowers, birdsong and fresh new growth.

It's the perfect season to press pause and reconnectโ€”with nature, with those you love, and with yourself.

Take a walk through Girraween National Park, breathe in the fresh mountain air, or simply enjoy a quiet morning on your villa verandah with a cup of tea.

Sometimes wellness isn't about adding more to your routine.

Sometimes it's about creating space for less.

๐ŸŒฟ This spring, let nature reset your rhythm.

At 31 The Rocks, every stay is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply and return restored.

๐Ÿ“ Plan your spring escape today.

The best days in the Granite Belt don't end when the sun goes downโ€”they simply become quieter.

Spend the day discovering cellar doors, walking through Girraween National Park or exploring our charming country town. Then return to 31 The Rocks just in time for one of nature's greatest performances.

Watch the sun set from our gazebo as the sky glows with colour, before retreating to your private villa where a warm fire and peaceful bushland await.

Sometimes, the perfect ending to the day is simply doing nothing at all.

๐ŸŒ… Explore.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Settle in.

Twelve months can make an incredible difference. ๐ŸŒฟ

This video begins with a hazard reduction burn - an important part of caring for our bushland and reducing the risk of more intense bushfires.

Fast forward one year, and the landscape tells a different story.

Native grasses have returned, wildflowers are beginning to bloom, and young trees and shrubs are thriving. Many Australian plants have evolved alongside fire, relying on it to regenerate and create healthy, diverse ecosystems.

It's a reminder that, when carefully planned and managed, fire can play an important role in protecting both people and nature.

We're privileged to care for this special piece of the Granite Belt and to watch it renew with each passing season.

๐ŸŒฟ Nature is remarkably resilient.

Have you ever seen the bush regenerate after a controlled burn?

Spring arrives quietly in the Granite Belt.

First, the wattles begin to bloom. Then the orchids appear, followed by a colourful tapestry of native wildflowers scattered amongst Girraween's ancient granite landscapes.

Every walk becomes an opportunity to slow down, look a little closer, and discover something beautiful.

If you're planning a spring escape, don't miss the wildflower walks through Amiens and Girraween National Park - some of the region's most spectacular seasonal experiences.
