Two fully self contained apartments perched on a cliff top with magnificent views of Macquarie Harbo Air-conditioning means effortless comfort.

The two fully self-contained apartments took over three years to build, resulting attention to detail and fully realised aesthetic make the Wheelhouse Apartments a unique Strahan accommodation. The idea was to create luxury Strahan accommodation with a sense of standing on the bridge of a huge ship, as though the apartments hovered high above the harbour itself. The maritime feel is subtly accentu

ated by polished timber floors, even pitch-caulking in places, uncluttered space, stanchion wire hand-rails and exterior cladding of open-sky blue. The upstairs bedrooms don't just have spas... they have spas with more of the incredible views and also separate ensuites. Downstairs, kitchen serving windows open onto 'yachtish' sun-decks... more of the floating flavour... and barbecues are provided. One apartment has a second bedroom downstairs, ideal for sharing this unique Strahan accommodation with family or friends, while the second unit is more private with only one bedroom. The ever-present view is always absorbing but television sets cantilever off the walls, upstairs and down, for a hint of modern comforts. Off-street parking.

Strahan has been buzzing lately, and we don’t want anyone missing out on a cruise through Macquarie Harbour and the stunning Gordon River.

So we’ve added an extra afternoon cruise on 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵! Jump aboard The Red Boat and soak up the wilderness, local stories, and maybe (if the weather plays nice) even catch the start of one of those famous West Coast sunsets.

A note to reassure our passengers travelling today, and potentially over the coming few days that journeys will resume as normal. Despite the smoke from a nearby bushfire it has been confirmed by local fire authority that we are safe to continue tours from both Queenstown and Strahan. We will remain in constant communication with the fire chief and should this change our passengers will be notified.

We have some exciting news to share with you all!...

As of Tuesday 24th September we will be opening track to the Rinadeena station, with maintenance to this station now being completed 😃

Our Rinadeena, Rack & Rainforest journey will travel from the Queenstown station, stopping in at Lynchford before travelling to Rinadeena and return. This tour will cover three kilometers of unique rack and pinion track, a gold panning opportunity, and rainforest sightseeing, enhancing your railway experience on our current Lynchford Express journey.
