*** If we’ve accidentally misnamed any of our feathered friends, please correct us in the comments!

We are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by some of Tasmania’s most unique birdlife here on the West Coast! Many avid bird photographers stay right here at Strahan Wilderness Lodge to capture them.

Thank you to the talented photographers who shared their work with us (full credits at the end).

Apologies to Libby Cashion as it's her lovely 'new holland honey eater photo' - thank you so much for allowing me to use it.

There is a raw, unapologetic beauty here. A place where rugged peaks meet unpredictable skies, and the restless sea carves its story into the cliffs. It is ancient. It is untamed and it is beautiful. This is the West Coast of Tasmania.

There’s a raw, untamed beauty to Tasmania’s west coast. It’s a place of sudden winter storms, deep pioneer history, and a wild landscape that stays with you. But despite the cold weather, the real heart of this coast is the warmth of the locals—including my grandfather and my partner John, who you'll spot in the video.🌧️
