A very entertaining MUST-DO when visiting Strahan. You are guaranteed to have a great laugh 😃

'The Ship That Never Was' will continue to perform through June and most of July 2026.

We will attempt to perform every day or every second day, but performances will only go ahead if we get enough bookings (15+ people) or if the weather is too bad to perform.

Without enough bookings, performances will be cancelled by 4pm on the day.

Confirmed performance dates so far:
June - 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 28th, 30th
July - 3rd, 5th - 14th, 19th, 20th, 21st

No performances::

August - entire month

An ABSOLUTE MUST-DO when you come to Strahan!! Congratulations to The Ship That Never Was Team for this worldwide achievement, and for keeping our little part of the world entertained 🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻

The Ship That Never Was has been voted in the top 10% of Traveller’s Choice reviews worldwide for 2026!

Not only a great story and a fun performance, which has been running for over 32 years,  but also a fantastic team of actors who run the show and entertain the visitors seven days a week for most of the year.

Perfect opportunity to see and learn the history of Macquarie Harbour and the Gordon River, AND the added bonus of a spectacular West Coast sunset 🤩

𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Strahan has been buzzing lately, and we don’t want anyone missing out on a cruise through Macquarie Harbour and the stunning Gordon River.

So we’ve added an extra afternoon cruise on 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵! Jump aboard The Red Boat and soak up the wilderness, local stories, and maybe (if the weather plays nice) even catch the start of one of those famous West Coast sunsets.

The forecast is looking pretty good too - 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟯°𝗖. Perfect cruising weather for the long weekend.
