Last week we posted a reminder about our current experience, Stories at the Station in Queenstown, but did you know that we are also running a similar but different experience at the Regatta Point station in Strahan as well?

Once you join us on board this stationary carriage journey the team will prepare a delectable morning high tea with three tiered stand for you to enjoy while listening to a 45 minute Floating Scores experience. Hear the stories of one man, Lindon, who once lived along the line, listen as Lindon recounts life along the line, set to a soundscape created by the team at Gap in the Fence in association with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

So jump on our website at https://www.wcwr.com.au/tours and book today, you never know, you may learn a thing or two!
(All experiences must be booked in advance and are onboard stationary carriages located at our stations. For same day bookings, please contact our ticketing team on 6471 0100 to enquire about availability.)

West Coast roads are not for the faint hearted. Sealed, gravel, corners, hills, there’s all types.

Even during winter, our weather changes quickly. Blue skies can turn to rain, hail and icy road conditions within the space of a couple of kilometres.

Driving on West Coast roads takes concentration. Allow plenty of time and stop along the way for regular breaks.

Always drive to the road conditions, you never know what’s around the corner. Be mindful of other road users and look out for wildlife and roadkill, especially at dawn and dusk.

Before starting your journey check for road closures or weather alerts (www.alert.tas.gov.au) and our team can also provide on-the-ground information.

Our tip: Allow plenty of time to get to the West Coast, and even longer to explore.
