As a mother of two women, I’m reminded every day how important it is to raise daughters who are strong, kind, confident and supportive of one another. Watching them grow into the women they’re becoming is one of the greatest privileges of my life.

I’m really honoured to say I’ve been selected to be part of Airbnb’s Host Advisory Board.

The HAB is a global group of hosts from 17 countries, and over the next three years I’ll be working closely with Airbnb to help shape the future of hosting - sharing real host experiences, what’s working, what’s challenging, and what hosts actually need.

I started hosting without much of a roadmap and learned a lot along the way (sometimes the hard way). Over time, that grew into supporting and educating other hosts; something I’m incredibly passionate about. Hosting has opened doors I never expected, so being able to now represent hosts and give something back feels pretty special.

I know I’ve got big shoes to fill, but I genuinely hope I can make a difference and be a strong, grounded voice for our hosting community.

Thanks to everyone who’s been part of my journey so far - I’m so grateful.

Thinking about becoming an Airbnb Host?

If you’ve ever thought about dipping your toes into the world of hosting, here’s the perfect chance to learn more!

I’m Bree, Airbnb’s Leader of the Sunshine Coast Community, and I’ll be hosting our upcoming Picnic in the Park event on Saturday, 4 October at 4PM at La Balsa Park, Buddina.

This relaxed gathering will bring together local Sunshine Coast hosts – from seasoned Superhosts to those just starting out. It’s a fantastic opportunity to:

- Ask questions about what it’s really like to host
- Chat with myself and other experienced hosts
- Learn how to make hosting enjoyable and sustainable
- Connect with a supportive community

We’ll have light nibbles, plenty of stories to share, and a free Airbnb picnic rug for every attendee! Bring along your partner, kids, or pup and enjoy an afternoon outdoors with us.
