Meet the Fleet! ⛵️ Southport Yacht Club is delighted to have so many boats and crew members representing SYC and the Gold Coast in this year's 80th Rolex Sydney Hobart.
🏆 Our third featured boat holds a remarkable race pedigree; 'Hutchies Yeah Baby', a Welbourne 50 that also has many Hobart's to its name. Owned by Andy Lamont since 2021, the crew feature a string of SYC Members and regular racers. Hutchies Yeah Baby placed 25th over the line in 2023 but missed out on the 2024 race due to it losing her mast in the inaugural GCCM Gold Coast Mackay Yacht Race race last year. 🙃
🎗️ The boat is now in Sydney along with many of the crew, preparing for the voyage and running some trials on Sydney Harbour this side of Christmas. Keep an eye out for her Sail Number 'A5' on Boxing Day!
