ch was named after Clark Gable an actor in "Gone With The Wind” (1936). We had many meetings with management and as the resort's name was Tara Village, we all decided to go with the movie theme of Gone with the Wind. Keep in mind that the original owners and builders of Tara Lodge where Irish and they named the building Tara after a hill in Ireland. Anglicized form of the Irish place name "Teamhair", which possibly means "elevated place" in Gaelic. This was the name of the sacred hill near Dublin where the Irish high kings resided. It was popularized as a given name by the novel 'Gone with the Wind' (1936) and the subsequent movie adaptation (1939), in which it is the name of the O'Hara plantation.
