Spring is in full fling in the highlands now. Everywhere you cast your eyes you are gifted with such a wonderful spectrum of colour and light. It is divine. The flowers and leaves are in their infancy, bringing vivacity to the once dreary and grey trees of winter. The days are a lovely temperature (yet the nights still blisteringly cold). And the horses perhaps already due for a diet after indulging glutinously on the rich new pastures.

Perhaps we are to remember this period of 2025 as ‘The Great Drench”. What an extraordinary month August has been, I’d be shocked to hear that more rain had fallen in the highlands.

Though, if you prepare properly, these conditions make for a particularly enchanting visit to the region. The misty and sparkling landscape, the heaving waterfalls, flowing rivers and green grass, it’s very beautiful. Not to mention hot tubs in the rain for the brave at heart!

What a beautiful winter in the Southern Highlands it has been so far (though we are very much looking forward to spring time). Biting cold mornings with fog covering the frosty meadows is quite an enchanting way to start the day, as long as you dress appropriately.
Spend the day exploring the Highlands, waterfalls, wineries, and charming villages. As sunset approaches, get the hot tub ready at Boscobel and watch the horses play in the paddocks.
Maybe even a beer and some dinner by the fire at Briars 👀.

Relax the night away and enjoy the extraordinary cosmic theatre that unfolds before you whilst soaking in the hot tub beneath the clear night sky.
