Australian marine businesses are flying the flag in Tampa, USA this week, exhibiting at IBEX 2026. Greencorp Marine, Australian Exporter of the Year Savwinch Drum Winches & Anchors and L&R Boat Latch are among the Australian companies showcasing their products to the North American market.

A special mention to L&R Boat Latch, named a winner in the 2026 IBEX Innovation Awards for its Launch & Retrieve Boat Latch.

IBEX, the International BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference, is North America's leading technical trade event for the marine industry, running 6 to 8 October at the Tampa Convention Center.

AIMEX has a new home online. The new website, australianmarine.org, is now live, bringing AIMEX, the Australian Commercial Marine Group (ACMG), Superyacht Australia and the Superyacht Group Great Barrier Reef together in one place.

Each association keeps its own name, look, membership, news and events. Together they now offer one home for Australia's marine export, commercial and superyacht industries, built from the ground up so that AI assistants can read it, trust it and point buyers to members.

Buyers increasingly find suppliers by asking ChatGPT, Google or another AI assistant. Asked about the export group's members, ChatGPT now lists 35 AIMEX members by name, from Austal and Birdon to Riviera, Steber and Vaikobi.

EXPORT SMARTER: GET YOUR DOCUMENTATION RIGHT

Export documentation is a critical part of international trade, and even a small mistake can lead to costly delays, payment issues or compliance risks. The Export Council of Australia is running a series of Online Export Documentation Workshops from Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 October 2026, 1.00 to 3.00 pm AEDT each day.

Each two-hour workshop covers its own topic: international contracts of sale and Incoterms 2020; export documentation, procedures and costing for export; and international payment documentation and risk management. Places are limited to 15 per workshop, and attendees receive workshop booklets and a Certificate of Completion.

Register for all three workshops to save $100. AIMEX encourages members to take part.

This week we were pleased to hear an update from Informa, owner of the new Australian International Boat Show being held in Sydney next July. The show runs from 29 July to 1 August 2027 at ICC Sydney and Cockle Bay in Darling Harbour, bringing together indoor exhibition halls and an on-water display.
