Sadly DWE is needing to change the way we run the charity donations and delivery part of our business, that we have been doing for over 20 years.
While Mal and I are very sad about this, the extra packing and lifting is taking its toll on our old bodies (which also need to be downsized) and the cost of getting staff to do this is also becoming prohibitive for a small business such as ours.
However, our beautiful clients still have so much to give. So I am asking everyone if they could pass this information on to any charity group they feel may be interested in the following
Meeting us at our clients place once we had gone through all the unwanted goods and disposed of damaged, soiled and goods not suitable to donate.
The goods for donation would be in an area where the representative from the charity would box and bag donated goods and take them away.
We could have everything from a vegetable peeler to beautiful brand new beds and linen and everything in between.
Sometimes clients have donated items suitable for auction but are happy not to take the proceeds, so if you are lucky to have those items donated, you can arrange for the goods to go to auction – we usually recommend Bargain Hunt Thornleigh, and they will deposit what you realise from the goods, directly into a nominated bank account – what a bonus for any charity.
Other items taken can be donated, sold or used for a garage sale, whatever works for the charity involved.
Unfortunately we will not be able to do any deliveries ourselves any longer, however we can arrange a quote from our partner removal company and liaise with them to arrange delivery.
We are still working on the logistics of how to exactly make this happen but if you or anyone in your contacts might be interested, please do not hesitate to private message me to discuss further.
Thank you all so much. This has been a very hard decision to make, but we are hopeful that there will be a charity or group people that would be happy to take the unwanted items rather than using them for landfill.
