Dreaming of dining at Ormeggio and Pilu on the same night? Well, soon you can, as Dal Mare alla Città – two one-night-only Italian takeovers with some of Sydney’s most influential Italian chefs – is landing at Gowings, QT Sydney. On May 27, Alessandro Pavoni from Ormeggio, a’Mare and Postino Osteria will team up with Giovanni Pilu from Pilu and Flaminia, alongside Gowings executive chef James Kidman. Next up on June 24 is Danny Russo from Sala Dining and Richard Ptacnik from Otto Ristorante. Come for four shared-style courses featuring everything from handmade pasta to market-fresh crudo and chargrilled steak cooked over open flame. James Kidman says: “These are chefs I’ve known for a long time – through kitchens, services, and all the chaos that comes with it. There’s a shared language there. When we cook together, it’s instinctive. It’s relaxed, a bit competitive, and genuinely fun. That’s what makes these nights special.” Each night is $170 per person, including four courses and paired wines, with Campari cocktails on arrival. Plus, there will be a Braulio trolley to end the night.
