Millford Acres Sublime beauty on the Far South Coast of NSW Australia

Finding old menus with annotations about our famous Woodfired Long Lunches makes me sad. Tomorrow is the end of an era here at .acres

We hope the next owners will find as much joy here are we did.

A beautiful surprise in the garden this afternoon. Gently transiting through. As you can hear, the birds really are amazing at notifying us of danger if we are listening and looking. Not that a python is dangerous.

I’m going to miss this place so much. I just love it all.

Last ten days at the farm 🥹
The light this morning is sublime. It’s this beauty and the sound of all the birds that my heart is going to miss.

What an amazing 10 years it’s been transforming Millford Acres Farm into a truly special place. We’ve poured our love into every corner.

We’ve made so many wonderful memories. A highlight was definitely celebrating our eldest daughter’s wedding at the Hay Shed. We’ve shared many fire pits, games of finska, cozy nights by the fire and beautiful beach sessions.

We’ve hosted many amazing cooking over fire events.

We’ve revegetated the creek and seen an abundance of small native birds return. We’ve created Koala corridors. Practiced rotational grazing and seen the farm come to life.

Living here has been like a constant warm embrace from our neighbours and Tanja / Wapengo community.

Boy do we have some stuff to sell, sort out and shuffle. It all happened a bit quick in the end.

At this stage we don’t know the what, where or how but we know it will all come together, it always does.

The gluten free bread will continue, our interest in cattle will endure and long lunches will never end!

May nature always shine.

Warmest wishes,
Megan & Tony

Pa. I have no idea why the photo is back to front 🤣

Apologies for my wheezy voice. I’ve got a little cold action going on.

Just love a little stroll around the garden in the late afternoon light.

Between the abundant bird life and spring deliciousness it seems such a waste to be sick and missing out on a beautiful day.

As always, there is a lot going on at the farm.

We haven’t mentioned the poly tunnels for a while as we don’t sell any of our produce but we still have one tunnel pumping.

We are a little over cauliflower and okonomiyaki and other cabbage related dishes. However, last night I cooked wedges with just fennel seeds, salt, pepper and olive oil and made a yoghurt and lemon dressing and it was delicious. Tony was looking for the protein but we’re still alive today- who would have thought 🤔

The tomatoes have their first fruit and I’m hoping they will be ripe just before Christmas. I finally clipped the cucumbers to the support as they have decided it’s time to go crazy.

I’ve also planted radicchio, celeriac, chard, jalapenos, a few other chili varieties and of course lettuce and spring onions. I wish I had a smidge more room for some bush beans but a fair bit of space is still planted with broccoli and cabbage 🤣 I still get such a buzz picking and eating what we grow.

We also brought in the cattle to tag and do a proper calf count. 29 so far. There a few stragglers but not many. They are looking fab. We’re really grateful for the 25mls a week or so ago as things had really started to dry out. It’s incredible how quickly the paddocks have responded. I’d like a little more but I’ll take what we get.

Our little gluten free bread business, is going great guns so we’ve pressed pause on farm events until after the crazy season.

Warm wishes,

Megan & Tony

PS. Every time we have checked our herd this past week we have happened upon a new beauty. The black baby was born yesterday and the dark grey this afternoon from one of our farm bred heifers.
