A brand-new music festival is coming to the Barossa this spring.

Barossa Sessions will bring live music to cellar doors, breweries, courtyards, lawns and some of the region’s most memorable venues across two weekends.

The first weekend, 25–27 September, is filled with intimate acoustic performances, long lunches and relaxed afternoon sessions.

Then, from 2–5 October, The Big Mix turns up the volume for the October long weekend.

Choose the sessions you want to see, make Stonewell your base and spend the weekend moving between music, food and wine across the Barossa.

When the final set finishes, return to your private cottage beside the lake, pour a glass of wine and enjoy the quiet.

I Spent 8 hrs straight on a tractor today, mowing vineyard rows and headlands, - an important job at the start of spring.

I began to learn to drive a car when I was 5, but a tractor when I was 3. I remember having to stand up to push the clutch in, or the turning brakes.

The best restaurant in South Australia. Two years running.

A huge congratulations to Executive Chef Kyle Johns and the entire Hentley Farm Restaurant team, who have once again been named Best Restaurant in South Australia at the 2026 Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence.

To win once is extraordinary. To return twelve months later and do it again says so much about the talent, care and work that goes into every part of the Hentley Farm experience.

We are incredibly lucky to have one of South Australia’s best dining experiences right here in the Barossa, just down the road from Stonewell.

And if you have been meaning to experience Hentley Farm for yourself, our Barossa Flavours Package includes their degustation lunch with matched wines and return transfers from your cottage.

Congratulations, Hentley Farm. So very well deserved.

It is always lovely when our guests notice the little things.

The wine waiting for them, the fridge stocked for breakfast, the firepit ready for a quiet night outside and all the details we include to help our guests properly switch off.

“Absolutely breathtaking! Thank you so much, Tina and Evan, for creating such a beautiful little escape. You truly have thought of everything, from the wine and fully stocked fridge to the cosy firepit.

Cupid’s Cottage was simply gorgeous, so warm, cosy and beautifully presented. It was the perfect place to slow down, relax and simply breathe amongst the vineyards.

We loved every minute of our stay and are so grateful for the care and thought you’ve put into making Cupid’s Cottage such a special place. We’ll definitely be back!”

A very sweet welcome to Greenock, Maison Cheryse.
Cheryse made the incredible cake for Tina’s 50th birthday, and now Tina only has to pop down the road to the heart of Greenock when she needs something sweet. We can’t decide whether that is wonderful or slightly dangerous.

If you’re staying with us, make sure Maison Cheryse is on your Barossa list for beautiful pastries, coffee and something delicious to bring back to your cottage.

Open Thursday and Friday from 8.30am to 1.30pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8.30am to 2pm, or until sold out. Our advice? Go early.

Find Maison Cheryse at 15 Murray Street, Greenock.

**POST UPDATE ** 🙏
Thank you everyone for your kind birthday wishes, in actual fact this photo is a beautiful memory of when I turned 50 back in July two years ago and I just used this photo to show you all what beautiful cakes Cheryse Zagler creates, she’s so talented and she could not have got it more right. I am now just so excited that her special treats do not need to wait for another special birthday! I visited her fantastic patisserie in Greenock on the weekend with my daughter Ruby (as did half of the Barossa!!) and there were just so many good choices. We both came back home with very full tummies and decided that next time we would just share one pastry, but the problem is we would need to actually be able to agree on what to choose! 😉

You do not need to fit the entire Barossa into one weekend.

Choose a couple of wineries you genuinely want to visit, book somewhere excellent for lunch and leave yourself enough time to enjoy your cottage.

We are always happy to help our guests with local recommendations, restaurant bookings and ideas that suit the kind of weekend they actually want, whether that means doing everything or very little.

Book your stay directly at https://stonewellcottages.com.au/book/

You can plan every moment of a Barossa stay, but often it is the unplanned ones you remember.

The cellar door you visited because someone recommended it over breakfast. The lunch that stretched well into the afternoon. The quiet drive home through the vines as the light began to soften.

Then you return to your cottage, open the wine you bought along the way and sit beside the lake with nowhere else to be.

That is the Barossa at its best.
