For as long as I can remember, Mum’s been making pâté. Not the fancy parfait kind — but the kind you want to lather on hot toast for breakfast or stack on crackers with a glass of red. It’s the kind of pâté friends still talk about… “I’m craving your mum’s pâté” is something I’ve heard more than once. Well, good news — she’s back at it, and her famous pâté will be on sale tomorrow at the Taralga Markets. Come down, say hi, and grab a tub (or three).

“Our week at Taralga Cottage was nothing short of magical. The cottage is a true gem, decorated beautifully & the most comfortable beds & linen in the world! The garden was absolutely gorgeous & we enjoyed every minute in it. We are already planning our next visit. A great place to switch off & do as much or as little as you like”.

Patience is a virtue that unfortunately I don’t posses & when planting a garden you have no choice. I’m actually surprised how quickly our new garden has grown. When I look back on the 2nd photo that was taken not long after I bought the cottage it’s hard to believe it’s the same place.

Mum wanted me to plant the garden before I started on the house so that it had time to establish but as I am so inpatient & knew I’d see no instant change ( like sanding floors, painting walls) I left the garden till last.

Still a work in progress but what a massive difference in a short space of time.

Looking forward to pottering with a Pimms or 2 & doing a bit more planting at some stage over the holidays.
