We’re gearing up for a big long weekend here at Tathra Beach Eco Camp and can’t wait to welcome everyone for a few slow coastal mornings and adventure-filled days.

Wattleseed Cafe -Tathra Beach Eco Camp cafe will be open specially this weekend from 7am–12pm, serving up award-winning Alfresco Roast coffee, bush tucker teas, healthy eats and fresh smoothies to fuel your adventures.

Whale watching season is so close, and we’ve been reliving some of the incredible moments from last year — like this amazing capture by missgroovygirl from late in the 2025 season 🐋

A few early sightings have already been reported along the Sapphire Coast as humpbacks begin their northern migration past Tathra from May to July each year, and returning to Antarctica from August. From now through to November, these incredible creatures will continue making their way along our coastline, with plenty of opportunities to spot whales both offshore and resting in the bay.

Some of the best local viewing spots include the Tathra Headland Walk, Tathra Wharf and Chamberlain Lookout near Kianniny. Keep your eyes on the horizon... you never know when a tail or splash might appear!

The June Long Weekend is nearly here and we’ve got a great few days lined up at Tathra Beach Eco Camp!

Across the weekend there’ll be movie nights under the stars, live music, wood fired pizzas, and Wattleseed Cafe reopening specially for the weekend.

If you’re keen to explore a little further, there’s plenty happening around the region too, including the WinterSun Festival, Merimbula Jazz Festival, and the beginning of whale season along the Sapphire Coast.

We’re almost booked out for the long weekend, but there’s still limited availability left if you’re looking for a last minute coastal getaway.
