Thank you to everyone who visited us on 19th July and for supporting the Museum when we had our most recent Heritage on Sunday event "UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS", which was a static display featuring the life of a servant 100 years ago.
The butler, the housekeeper, hall boy, scullery maid, valet, laundry maid and cooks all had to abide by the strict rule of servant life.
There were many fun and interesting facts to learn at this event. Here are a few photos from that day.

At our recent school holiday event (2 days),
Upstairs Downstairs, our young visitors discovered what it was like to work as a servant 100 years ago.
There were many tasks set by the lady of the house Mrs. Haines, that were required of them.
They were supervised by some of the senior servants and household staff.
At the conclusion of their training, the junior servants were presented with a servant's certificate then were treated to some delicious refreshments, all made by our talented volunteers.

Guess who is on the front page of the Gully Grapevine??
It's our very own Blacksmith Fred. We are ever so proud of him too.
Make sure that the next time you visit the Tea Tree Gully Heritage Museum, on one of our Heritage on Sunday events, which are mostly on the 3rd Sunday of the month, that you visit our Blacksmith shop, where you will be fascinated by the work that Fred and his fellow blacksmiths do.
The sculpture can be found across the road from the Museum, at Haines Park.
