in 50 acres of tall hardwood forest and surrounded by State Forest, the modern eco-cabin was built in 2007 from local timbers, and would comfortably accommodate 2 couples or a medium-sized family. It includes 2 larger bedrooms with queen beds and 1 smaller room with a single bed. A spare single mattress could squeeze an extra child into the smaller room. This is modern eco-living at its best, with 100% off-grid solar powering an LCD TV, DVD & CD player, surround sound system inside and outside with iPod connector and high-speed (ADSL1 + WiFi) internet access. All water is micro-filtered from rainwater tanks, sewerage and grey water treated on-site and the building is highly-insulated, heated in winter by an open fire or efficient gas heater, and cooled in summer by natural convection and ceiling fans. The open plan living area includes a fully-equipped kitchen with gas oven, with the dining and lounge area opening onto a covered timber deck, perfect for evening BBQs. Enjoy the view of the forest and mountains whilst soaking in the bath or the hot outdoor shower. Magazines, board games and children's toys make a getaway more convenient and enjoyable for all. Other features include a portable cot and high chair for young families, with a huge outdoor play area and lawn in full view of the deck and dining area. Pets are welcome to join your holiday, just not inside the cabin, and there are no fences enclosing the property. This was my second stay here and it was better than the first... It such a great place to chill. One whole afternoon was absorbed sitting on the deck, music wafting from the outdoor speakers just looking into the bush and mountain vista. Nights where spent cooking, listening to music, watching DVDs and playing some games..all of which are there if you dont bring your own. Being slightly cooler we got the fire going for a cosy night. We loved the place so much we only ventured out once..Kevin, May 2013
