SLSNSW Peer Support Training
SLSCC was well represented at Saturday’s Peer Support Training at SLSNSW, with around 16 participants attending, including five members from the Central Coast. Alison - Terrigal & Wamberal, Chris Bowden - North Avoca, Lara - The Lakes, Fiona - Copacabana and Michael - Toowoon Bay
The training provided a great opportunity to learn more about the Peer Support Officer (PSO) role and clarify how the role will operate across the Branches.
Participants were also given a behind-the-scenes look at the State Operations Centre (SOC), including a mock incident where information was sent directly to their phones. This provided a practical insight into how PSOs will operate and support members during an incident.
It was fantastic to see such strong representation from the Central Coast and to have members building their skills to support our surf lifesaving community.
