Open Saturdays - 9am to 1.30pm

The Texas Heritage Centre & To***co Museum has numerous buildings to explore from a mini Shearing Shed, Harness Shed, Jail and Stocks, Smithy, Post Office Store, Farm Shed, to the Mission Hall.

Our complex contains over 2000 catalogues items, photographs and family histories. We also have a School Room with the teacher aids of many decades ago. Relics from the Silverspur Mine, information from Texas Station and many photos and books written by members of the Historical Society about the people, events and industries of the area.

We welcome all visitors including groups. We are open Saturdays from 9am to 1.30pm and by appointment at other times, excluding Public Holidays and Easter Weekend.

The Texas Show 2026 – 25 & 26 July

Get ready for an action-packed weekend celebrating country life at the 2026 Texas Show!

Enjoy two full days of entertainment featuring rodeo action, campdrafting, show jumping, stud cattle judging, yard dog trials, pig races, sideshow alley, laser tag, outdoor markets, mechanical bull rides, gladiator duels and plenty of free activities for the kids.

Saturday highlights include the Texas Rodeo, live performances from local students, whip cracking competitions, open fire cooking demonstrations by Chef Jason Roberts, fireworks and live music from Will Day & Band.

Sunday brings even more excitement with the dog competition, pushbike races, Tough Texan Challenge, woodchop events, classic car display, ute competition, motorbike competition, drone lolly drop, the Calcutta Pig Race and the Major Holiday Lucky Gate Draw.

Whether you're a local or visiting the region, the Texas Show offers something for all ages and is a fantastic celebration of rural community spirit.

The Texas Water Tank is located on Stanthorpe Texas Road and was painted by Brightsiders during October 2021.

It tells the story of Texas and its community.

While developing the design the team at Brightsiders heard many examples of the people of Texas 'turning things around', their adaptability and their pragmatism that has served their town well.

Many of the photographs the team took in the town featured rusty old machinery, wheels and cogs from machinery of days gone by. They also heard of the significance of the Dumaresq River to the community, so based on all that was observed, the overall colour scheme of rust and water tones was used decided to be used throughout.

Very clean and comfortable motel situated in a country area. Very quiet and close to everything. Very friendly staff. We had a twin share room. Very comfortable beds. Nicely appointed room. Plenty of parking. We'd definitely recommend this motel.

Had a comfortable and relaxing stay at the motel. The accommodation was clean and tidy, in easy walking distance to the pub, cafes and offerings of the Main Street. The motel was well kept, lovely gardens and does the trick for an easy overnight stay. Would stay again.
