FYI if you are on the water need the dam spillway

🚧 Important Safety Update at Tinaroo Dam 🚧

Due to prolonged overtopping at Tinaroo Dam, several marker buoys have detached from the buoy line, reducing the visibility of the flagged area designed to keep visitors safely away from the spillway.

For your safety, we remind all visitors to maintain a distance of at least 200 meters from the spillway. Even though the buoys may not be in place, this distance helps ensure your safety around the water.

Please stay vigilant and enjoy your time safely! 🌊

Congratulations Scooter.

Tinaroo Falls Dam is spilling excess water into the Barron river due to recent rainfall. Expect increased river flows.

The Mareeba community is advised to stay up to date in case the situation changes by:
-Monitoring Tinaroo Falls Dam level bit.ly/TinarooFallsStorageLevels
-Monitoring river and rainfall conditions at bit.ly/3y9TcqE
-Checking local news and road closures Tablelands Regional Council (dashboard.trc.qld.gov.au/),Mareeba Shire Council (emergency.msc.qld.gov.au/ ), Cairns Shire Council (http://disaster.cairns.qld.gov.au/) disaster dashboard
- Tuning in to ABC Far North 106.7FM for local updates.

With continuing runoff entering Lake Tinaroo, coupled with forecasted showers and thunderstorms for the region this week, we are likely to see Tinaroo Falls Dam to spill 😁

Barrabadeen “the meeting place of many waters”

Barrabadeen Activity Centre is located on the southern end of Lake Tinaroo and is accessed by a short drive from the Tinaroo Township on Danbulla Rd.

We are situated on a small peninsula jutting into the lake and we are entirely surrounded by Danbulla National Park. This means we can offer you a private and safe bush camping experience!

We offer public camping suitable for tents and camper trailers with most of our sites being on the water front, under shady native trees. There are hot showers and composting toilets. Campfires are allowed* in the provided fire areas/drums and a gas BBQ area is also available for hire.

Surrounded by 3.3km of shoreline including sheltered coves and over 500 metres of sandy beach, this is the perfect spot to put your feet up, take in the view of the lake, and peacefulness sink in.
