We saw this little fellow (Chlamydosaurus kingii) earlier in the week. Relaxing and blending in with the dry country bush. A good lesson there for all of us.

White Oak (Bailey's Silky Oak) grevillea baileyana is named after the famous Queensland botanist, F.M. Bailey. Although the flowers of this grevillea can be striking in green, white or cream, it is the foliage and new growth which are truly spectacular. The underside of the leaves can vary from silver through to gold.

To watch the branches sway in the breeze, lit by yellow afternoon light, is one of life's great pleasures here in the wet tropics.
