Now that we’ve officially clocked over 4 years of Goolwa River Retreat, we thought it was the perfect time to properly introduce the owners behind the magic — Rob & Nicole Weightman 🤎
If you’ve stayed with us before, celebrated a wedding here, or visited the property, chances are you may have already met them.
Rob and Nicole, along with their four children, have always shared a deep love for the river lifestyle. As a family, some of their most treasured memories have been made on the magical Murray River.
They’re a keen water-sporting family, and the river has always felt like home.
Outside of Goolwa, Rob has a background in plumbing and co-owns a business with his son-in-law, while Nicole owns her own successful hairdressing business. They know the value of hard work, but also truly cherish every chance to slow down, relax, and enjoy life by the river especially with their two grandchildren.
Coming from a rural property background, creating a space filled with open space, privacy, and relaxed living has always been at the heart of what Goolwa offers.
With their children now all grown and venturing into their own lives, their dream became creating a special place on the river that could be shared with family, friends, and the beautiful people who visit us.
Their love for this place also means caring for it for future generations, with solar systems and fresh rainwater tanks helping make Goolwa a more sustainable retreat.
What started as a family dream has now become a place where so many beautiful memories are made, weddings, weekends away, celebrations, and time spent with the people you love most.
