Gatehouse by the Gardens is a private, fully self-contained apartment where you can arrive with just your suitcase; everything else awaits.

The space
A cosy two-bedroom apartment with a relaxed modern feel and plenty of room to unwind, whether you’re lounging on the large shaded deck or enjoying the comfort of ducted air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and home-style amenities.
The property backs directly onto the beautiful Anderson Park Botanic Gardens, fully enclosed by fencing and lush greenery for privacy and security. It’s perfect for peaceful walks, or for little ones to burn off energy while feeding the ducks along shady paths and ponds.
The apartment and surrounding property are all on one level, with a gentle 9 cm step from the garage into the living area. There are no level changes leading onto the deck or into the bathroom, making the space accessible, family friendly and suitable for hospital visits or business travel.
The bathroom is a wet room design featuring an oversized bath for deep relaxation and both a handheld and a luxurious rain shower head with a selector valve. A shower chair is available on request.
Please note: The bathroom is designed as a wet room to accommodate wheelchair access. If you prefer a fully enclosed shower, please consider whether this setup will suit your needs before booking.
Guest access
Guests have full access to the apartment, courtyard and large deck.
A generous complimentary breakfast is provided: eggs, bread, butter, fruit and porridge, along with a full selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate, chilled water and well-stocked pantry essentials.
For your convenience, the bathroom is equipped with quality toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, toilet paper, toothbrushes and toothpaste, razors and other personal care items.
Entertainment includes a 4K smart TV, a DVD player and a large selection of movies for a relaxed night in.
The spacious deck is perfect for outdoor dining, BBQs and quiet evenings under the stars.
🚭 Please note: Smoking and va**ng are not permitted anywhere on the property, including the deck. This helps keep the air fresh and welcoming for all guests.
Parking options include a small garage (3 m × 5 m) suitable for compact cars, plus additional free parking for up to four vehicles on the front lawn.
Gatehouse is conveniently located about 10 minutes to the city centre, 15 minutes to The Strand and Magnetic Island ferry, 10 minutes to the airport and 6 minutes to the train station.
Other things to note
Location and essentials: Take a peaceful stroll through the adjoining Anderson Gardens and enjoy easy access to the Mater Hospital (about 300 metres away). Cafés, supermarkets and local shops are also close by, making this a great choice for longer hospital stays or visiting family.
Stadiums and shopping: Queensland Country Bank Stadium is around 11 minutes by car, and Townsville Stadium about 4 minutes. Castletown Shopping Centre is about 4 minutes by car (or roughly 20 minutes on foot), and Townsville Shopping Centre is about 7 minutes away.
Sustainability: Hot water is powered by a solar system, supporting an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient stay.
