2027 Townsville Folk Festival – Organising Committee Meeting

It’s time to start planning for the 2027 Townsville Folk Festival!

Join us on Sunday 13 September at 2.00pm in the CIC Room, Level One, Northtown, Flinders Street, Townsville.

We’ll take a look back at the successes and highlights of the 2026 Festival, before getting stuck into planning for the 2027 Townsville Folk Festival, to be held 11–13 June 2027 at Foots Hill Station, Reid River.

Everyone is welcome!

We also have some vacancies on the Organising Committee and would love to hear from anyone who is interested in getting involved, sharing ideas, taking on a role or simply lending a hand.

Come along, meet the team and help us make the 2027 Festival the best one yet!

💚 So many good memories! 🎶

While we’re starting to think about our planning for TFF 2027, we just had to keep sharing some of the wonderful memories from this year’s festival!

There was so much music, laughter, dancing, friendship, great food, happy campers and those special festival moments that make the Townsville Folk Festival so much fun. 🎻🎸🪕💃🌿

🎶 REMEMBERING TFF 2026! 🎶

What a weekend! 💚

As we start looking ahead to TFF 2027, we thought we'd take a little trip down memory lane and remind ourselves just how much fun we had at the 2026 Townsville Folk Festival!

From incredible music and dancing to spontaneous jams, workshops, campfires, friendships, laughter and plenty of happy faces — there was something happening around every corner. 🎻🎸🪕💃🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, performed, volunteered, camped, danced, listened, laughed and helped make the 35th Townsville Folk Festival such a wonderful weekend.

🎸 Rising Stars Band Academy – Phase Two 🎸

One of the highlights of this year's Townsville Folk Festival was our Rising Stars Industry Discussion Forum, featuring members of Late November and Tropical Low.

Thanks to support from Arts Queensland and the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), these talented young bands not only performed at the festival but also generously shared their experiences with the next generation of musicians.

The forum featured thoughtful questions from our Rising Stars participants, as well as other young artists and parents, covering everything from songwriting and rehearsals to recording, promotion and building a sustainable career in music.

A huge thank you to Late November and Tropical Low for inspiring our future stars and helping create valuable pathways for young regional musicians. 🎶✨

The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and the Townsville City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

🌟 What a fantastic year for the Rising Stars Band Academy!

Congratulations to the eight incredible high school bands who took to the stage after eight weeks of mentoring with Costa from King Konz School of Music. The talent, passion and energy on display was outstanding!

A huge congratulations to Tribute, our People's Choice winners, who have earned an invitation to perform at the 2027 Townsville Folk Festival! 🎉🎸

The future of live music is in great hands. ❤️🎶
