There are two separate and tastefully decorated villas - 'Tree Tops' is upstairs and 'Lake View' is at ground level. Both villas includ

e a queen-size bed fitted with electric blanket, Minijumbuck underlay, premium quality doona, woollen blanket, quality Morgan & Finch linen and towels, bedside cabinets and lamps, wardrobe, ensuite bathroom with a capacious, nurturing free-standing bath, separate shower, vanity with hairdryer, Natural Earth toiletries, a kitchenette with sink, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster, adjacent dining and sitting room space with television, books and magazines and a private outdoor balcony with stunning views of the lake. Each villa is heated and cooled with minimum effort reverse cycle wall-mounted airconditioners. Continental breakfast with a choice of cereals, sourdough bread, jams, peanut butter and Vegemite, selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and homemade biscuits are included in the nightly tariff. Once you've unwound you may be drawn down the peaceful, tree-lined country lane, through the park and over a quaint footbridge to what at first seems like a sleepy village. As you step into the main street you'll soon realise that the faded old shop fronts house some astonishing and diverse businesses. The Cosmopolitan Hotel, Annie Smithers’ Du Fermier, Chaplin’s, Trentham General, IGA and the bakery are just a short stroll away in High Street with further options along Market Street and not to be missed are the culinary delights of Red Beard and Twinkle Town. The township also offers a range of. artisan produce, galleries, boutiques, nurseries, antiques and unusual wares. A farmers’ market is held in the town square on the third Saturday of each month. Trentham is an old town with great historic character, but enough going on to satisfy the most discriminating visitor. And don’t miss a visit to Trentham Falls just a few kms away.

While we’ve loved the plum colour themed furnishings in the Tree Tops villa, we decided it was time for a refresh. This started with the purchase of a merino woollen checked blanket from Creswick Woollen Mills in Daylesford. We were delighted to find an array of matching cushions from Macedon Ranges Furniture in Kyneton. Two bold table lamps from Beacon Lighting completed the transformation.
