This Sunday is shaping up to be a massive one in Tumbarumba!
Brisbane might have just had Magic Round, but this Sunday we’ve got our very own Tumba Magic Round, with all teams across the tackle league and women’s league playing right here in town.
It’s going to be a fantastic day down at the grounds, so make sure you get down there, support the canteen, support the bar, and keep an eye out for raffles and everything happening throughout the day.
Women’s games:
9:00am: Albury Mud Dogs v Corowa Cougars
11:35am: Wodonga Wombats v Border Bears Women
2:05pm: Tumba Women v Wangaratta Knights
Men’s games:
10:05am: Albury Mud Dogs v Corowa Cougars
12:40pm: Wodonga Wombats v Border Bears
3:15pm: Tumba Greens v Wangaratta Knights
At the pub, we’ll be open for lunch service only from 11:30am to 2:30pm.
After lunch, the pub will be closed from 2:30pm to 5:30pm while our team heads down to the fields. A lot of our staff are either playing or volunteering on the day, so we’ll be down there supporting the action.
Once the men’s main game wraps up, the goal is for everyone to head back to the pub together from around 5:30pm. Players, supporters, sponsors, families and locals are all welcome to come back, celebrate the day and enjoy the night.
We’ll be kicking things off at the pub from around 6:00pm with award speeches in the back beer garden, where we’ll also have DJ Z Diddy set up for the night.
We’ll be giving a big shout out to the local sponsors and supporters who have helped make it possible to get both our men’s and women’s teams on the field this year, and celebrating what should be a massive day for the club and the town.
New Tumba Greens merch is also now available to purchase at the pub, and there’ll be merch available down at the fields on Sunday as well, so make sure you check it out.
We’ll also be moving our usual meat raffle and Joker Poker from Saturday night to Sunday night this week. Perfect timing if a few sore players happen to win a meat tray and don’t have to worry about lunch or dinner on Monday.
We know a lot of people are working Monday, so it’ll still be business as usual with a 10:00pm close, but from when everyone gets back after the game until then, we’d love to see as many Tumba Greens players, supporters, sponsors, families and locals as possible.
We’re also hoping to welcome plenty of players and supporters from Corowa Cougars, Wangaratta Knights, Albury Mud Dogs, Border Bears and Wodonga Wombats.
Play tough, play hard, represent your town, leave it all on the field, then come back, have a drink, get to know each other, and help build a stronger community across the whole season.
And remember, all Tumba Greens men’s and women’s players, 10:00pm curfew Saturday night. Let’s put it all out there Sunday.
