What an absolute disgrace.
Agritourism operates side by side with farming enterprises all over the World, Australia, Queensland, FNQ, and the Atherton Tablelands. These businesses generally compliment each other and are often owned and operated by the same people and families.
There are so many examples of this locally, eg:
Christmas Tree Farm, Kaban Heights by the Pines, Mt Uncle Distillery, Lake Eacham Tourist Park, Bonadios Tourist Park, Shaylee Strawberries, Walkamin Caravan Park, Crater Mountain Coffee, Gallo Dairyland, and so many others too long to list.
However, somehow our venture gets different treatment.
Over this Easter weekend, our guests and ourselves, have had to put up with an extremely noisy Scare Gun deliberately pointed towards, and only 200 metres from, one of our camping areas.
The blasts from the scare gun have sometimes been going off at intervals of 30 seconds. All day long. All weekend long.
It’s illegal but our neighbours do it anyway. Authorities have been informed and they are working to resolve the issue.
The scare gun is placed on property owned by JOE STRAZZERI - BARRONESSA FARMING and is operated by sons JEFF STRAZZERI and SHANE STRAZZERI.
Another neighbouring property owned by RUSSELL LYNCH has also undertaken this activity in the past.
I assume they are proud to put their names to this.
This behavior interferes with our guests, families and children having the relaxing and peaceful experience they should be able to enjoy.
Some of our guests are local families, and others are visiting the Atherton Tablelands. Despite the unnecessary scare gun noise, they love our property, our hospitality, and the Atherton Tablelands. They are under no illusion as to the sort of people our neighbours are.
When considering the state of the world right now and the enjoyment that we provide to families, it is obvious what an absolute disgrace these selfish people are.
