Well the season has finally broken. Having good gentle rain during last year that gave us a green drought, to a good 59mm last night that put the causeway over quickly with the good rain on the properties above us on Station Creek. Back down again this morning πŸ˜€

This afternoon it is belting down again, so look forward to checking the rain gauge in the morning!πŸ˜€

Well, it has been warm. A nice shower to cool things down would have sufficed.

We had 605 mm over the last period and we have just checked the rain gauge for tonight at 10pm to find another 75 mms. The causeway is over again and it is still raining!😫

Well we are a little damp and flooded in with another 56mm at 6am with a total of448.5mm since the rains started!

More country being opened up for β€˜wild fire’ mitigation. Clearing suckers and lantana with the stick rake and skid steer, scarified/ chisel ploughed with the tractor and seeded with a horse/ sheep grassmix.

Bred by Lisa Wippell and Peter Wippell, Alkira is our 'original' working dog. Along with the rest of the canine 'team', she helps us to work the VET Centre livestock and keep us industry current.

Living up to her name - an Aboriginal word meaning "happy and sunny" - Alkira loves herding sheep, swimming the dams and people! She is always the first to welcome visitors to our Widgee base. When not working sheep, Alkira can generally be found keeping a watchful eye on the mob.

Ezra is an ex-associate law professor from the UK, with over 20 years' experience of working in the law. She met Vince while riding horses through the Sacred Valley in Peru, and after three years of dividing her time between the UK and Australia (and a wedding!), relocated permanently to Queensland.

Ezra develops tailored Work Health and Safety packages to help small and medium sized businesses achieve WHS compliance. She also provides grant writing services, writes curricula for both accredited and unaccredited training courses, and is responsible for VET Centre's day-to-day financial management and general administration.

Having spent much of his early life on pastoral properties and worked his way up from stockman to business and property owner, Vince's particular passion is to help people enter and build careers in thriving and safe pastoral and agriculture industries.
