What a wonderful few days at Cooinda Retreats as the Sacred Earth Victor Harbor Retreat brought together a beautiful community through music, reflection and connection.

It was fabulous to welcome internationally acclaimed mantra artists Penny and Jethro Williams. With more than a quarter of a million albums sold and around 328,000 monthly Spotify listeners, Sacred Earth’s music reaches people throughout the world.

For Cooinda Retreats, this event was also a powerful example of what a community-led, not-for-profit retreat can achieve. By bringing together flexible gathering spaces and a team genuinely invested in each group, Cooinda can provide a home for significant retreat experiences right here in Victor Harbor.

We are delighted that discussions have already commenced for Sacred Earth to return to Cooinda for its 2027 Victor Harbor Retreat. It is fabulous news and a wonderful endorsement of the collaboration between Sacred Earth, its community and Cooinda Retreats.

Penny and Jethro have now returned home and headed straight back into the studio to complete Sacred Earth’s much-anticipated eleventh album.

Thank you to everyone who brought such warmth and spirit to Cooinda. We loved being part of this very special retreat and are pleased it was only the beginning.

There is something truly special unfolding at Cooinda Retreats this weekend. 🌿✨

We are delighted to welcome Penny and Jethro of Sacred Earth, together with their wonderful community, for their four-day Into Your Heart Retreat.

Through meditation, mantra singing, music, movement and shared reflection, they have brought such a beautiful warmth and presence to Cooinda. From the thoughtfully created gathering space to nourishing meals shared around the table, the retreat is already filled with connection, peace and community.

This is exactly what our vision for Cooinda is all about: creating a place where people can step away from everyday life, gather meaningfully and reconnect with themselves, with others and with the natural world around them.

Our current caretakers, who have been an amazing part of Cooinda, are heading off on the next chapter of their adventure, creating a wonderful opportunity for someone new to join our community.

The role is available now through until the end of August, allowing time to work alongside our current caretakers for a smooth handover.

After days of wild South Australian rain, the clouds have finally parted at Cooinda Retreats… and what a sight. 🌿☀️

The site is fresh, green, sparkling, and looking absolutely spectacular, just in time to welcome a wonderful group staying with us for the next four days.

There’s something pretty special about that first burst of sunshine after a big winter soak. The gums are glowing, the ground feels alive, and Cooinda is putting on a beautiful show.

We’re ready. The site is ready. And honestly, it looks magic. ✨

🌱✨ What an incredible day at Cooinda Retreats. ✨🌱

Today, we had the privilege of hosting and sponsoring the Fleurieu Youth Climate Summit 2026, welcoming students, educators, community leaders and passionate young people from across the Fleurieu Peninsula for a day focused on learning, collaboration and action.

As a community initiative of Toc H South Australia
seeing Cooinda Retreats used in this way is exactly what inspires us. Bringing people together, creating opportunities for conversation, sharing ideas, and supporting the next generation to explore the challenges and possibilities that lie ahead.

The energy throughout the day was remarkable. From thought-provoking speakers and practical workshops to the enthusiasm and leadership shown by the young people in attendance, there was a genuine sense of optimism and purpose in every corner of the site.

A huge thank you to the organisers, presenters, teachers, volunteers and students who made the day such a success. Most importantly, thank you to the young people who showed that the future is in capable hands.

We are incredibly proud that Cooinda Retreats was chosen as the venue for this important event and grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in supporting it.

A place like Cooinda Retreats doesn’t stay beautiful by accident. 🌿🔨

Behind every campsite, building and view is a constant cycle of care, maintenance and renewal. Today was one of those important jobs, replacing sections of roofing over our alfresco dining area to keep everything weatherproof and ready for guests to enjoy, whatever the season.

It’s not always the most glamorous work, but it’s the kind of investment that helps protect this special place for the future. Every improvement, big or small, helps ensure Cooinda remains a welcoming space for campers, groups, families and our broader community.

A big thank you to everyone who contributes to keeping Cooinda looking its best. ❤️

🌿 The Fleurieu Youth Climate Summit is almost here! 🌿

On Thursday 4 June, students from across the Fleurieu Peninsula will come together at Cooinda Retreats for a day of learning, collaboration, leadership and climate action.

Now in its fifth year, the Summit creates opportunities for young people to share ideas, explore practical solutions, connect with peers, and be inspired by guest speakers and facilitators from across the region.

We are proud to be hosting and sponsoring this important event and look forward to welcoming the next generation of changemakers to Cooinda Retreats.

It was wonderful to welcome Lou Nicholson Fleurieu Peninsula our new State Member for Finniss, to Toc H South Australia’s Cooinda Retreats today.

Adam and Beck had the opportunity to walk Lou through the site and share more about our emerging community centre village concept, which focuses on wellbeing, inclusion, connection and practical community support across the Southern Fleurieu.

We also appreciated the chance to discuss the importance of school camps and the Government’s commitment in this area, particularly around access, affordability and the role community-based providers can play.

Thank you Lou for taking the time to visit, listen and understand the work we are doing at Toc H South Australia and Cooinda Retreats.
