Still worth visiting for the Ancient Empire walk! 🌲
For 25 years we’ve been honoured to welcome visitors to our amazing walkway among the treetops of the awe-inspiring Walpole Wilderness.
Like any built structure that’s exposed to the elements, we need to stay on top of our regular maintenance program because visitor safety is our number one priority.
We have been working on the replacement program since October 2021 and we did not expect to have to fully close the walkway.
However, our engineers have identified additional work that needs to be done immediately and this means the Tree Top Walk will be closed from Christmas Day 2021 until further notice as a safety precaution.
We understand that this timing is inconvenient. The Tree Top Walk will re-open once the current works have been completed, which may be several months.
The discovery centre, gift shop and ANCIENT EMPIRE WALK WILL REMAIN OPEN. The Ancient Empire is free to visit and you can still wander through the majestic tingle trees and visit Grandma Tingle!
